Denny’s, the diner-style restaurant chain, is expanding its partnership with Beyond Meat by making the plant-based Beyond Burger available in its establishments nationwide.
This follows a successful trial launch in the chain’s Los Angeles restaurants. The vegan burger will now be rolled out to more than 1,700 locations across the US and Canada.
“The positive response we received validated our decision to partner with Beyond Meat to introduce our guests to a plant-based option,” said John Dillon, Chief Brand Officer for Denny’s.
The launch is aimed at consumers moving towards a flexitarian diet, in which meat plays a diminished role and is bolstered by plant-based protein.
Although the Beyond Burger offers the same sensory and taste experience of beef, it boasts more protein less total and saturated fat and no cholesterol.
“Partnering with Denny’s has been a big step in increasing offerings for those looking to introduce plant-based protein into their diets or for alternative choices at their favourite restaurants,” said Tim Smith, Beyond Meat’s VP of North America Sales, Foodservice.
Mr Dillon added: “We could not be more excited to add the Beyond Burger to our permanent line-up of delicious, affordable menu options as we continue to innovate and expand our menu to meet evolving dietary preferences.”
