Dutch dairy co-op, FrieslandCampina, has sold its majority stake in CSK Food Enrichment to DSM, a science-based specialist in nutrition, health and sustainable living.
Royal FrieslandCampina will sell its 82.3% stake in CSK, while the other shareholders sell their shares to DSM.
CSK, a producer of dairy cultures, rennets and cheese coatings, previously announced that it was looking for a new strategic alliance with the aim of accelerating the company’s growth.
“We are pleased that CSK Food Enrichment is able to further develop under the wings of the Dutch based company DSM and see a bright future for the company, which will also be of benefit to FrieslandCampina,” said Hans Meeuwis, President of FrieslandCampina Dairy Essentials.
“Solid long-term arrangements have been made with the new owner securing a sustainable continuation of our relationship and the future availability of our unique ‘Dutch heritage cultures’. This is a good outcome for all parties involved.”
The transaction is expected to close before the end of the year.
