Winnow, a UK start-up reducing food waste in the hospitality sector, has raised a combined $20 million.
The compared raised $12 million in a series B round, followed by a recent $8 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The new funding will be used to further accelerate the development of the company’s technology and business approach to help fight food waste.
Since found in 2013, Winnow’s system is now used in over 1,000 sites by its global clients, saving twenty-three million means a year from the bin.
The start of 2019 saw the company introduce artificial intelligence technology which, it said, allow kitchens to see what has been wasted and what volumes this waste is.
