Of the remaining 30%, nearly allcould not have been introduced in the foodmanufacturing process. Andrew Broadhurst, GTS DevelopmentTechnologist, says, “Accuracy and speed are clearlyvital with these kinds of analyses. In many caseswe have been able to help manufacturers avoidproduct recalls as well as protect their vital brandreputation.” GTS is accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 andISO 17025 standards. We are pleased to report that it is very much ‘business as usual’ across most of our operation and we are making good progress to achieve normal working throughout the entire business.Temporary laboratory space to replace the food and pharmaceutical microbiology block, which was most affected by the fire, has now been established on site and is in the process of being fitted out. Following UKAS accreditation, testing in this area will resume. In the meantime, work is being sub-contracted so that testing can continue as normal. We also have a dedicated team working on developing a permanent solution for our foodand pharmaceutical microbiological testing services. Our Pharmaceutical Chemistry department has been able to transfer to facilities within ourparent company’s laboratories on the same site, while our Food Chemistry business has been totally unaffected by the fire and continues to operate normally, currently providing an invaluable service including ELISA horsemeat testing during this period of industry concern. And one thing that has not been affected by the fire is our long-established reputation as one of the UK market leaders in the provision of contract laboratory food and pharmaceutical testing services; nor has our commitment to provide a quality service with the highest scientific standards, speedy response and competitive prices.ILS is very much open for business and we look forward to working with existing and new clients.ILS Ltd, Shardlow Business Park, London Road, Shardlow, Derbyshire DE72 2GDTelephone: +44 (0) 1332 793000 Email: lbater@ilsmail.co.uk Fax: +44 (0) 1332 799263www.ils-limited.co.uk05:Layout 1 22/3/13 12:02 Page 1Register to visit at ZZZÀDVLDFKLQDFRPUHJLVWHUFi Asia-China, Hi & Ni is the country’s most important gathering of ingredient suppliers, distributors and buyers for the food, health, and nutraceutical industry.
