The programme links product ingredients with the original raw materials supplied. When recipesare created and produced, all the relevant data is then transferred so that the nutritional values, including any allergen or GMO retail, are automatically calculated and the information transferredto the product label. The system can be tailored to the requirements of different national and international standards, giving manufacturers full flexibility in the supply of products to different countries.A stepper motor with superior EMCperformanceAlldrives & Controls, representing NanotecGermany in the UK and Ireland, has the food anddrink industry in mind with the new Nanotec SC3518series stepper motors.EMC problems are now in the past as Nanoteclaunches a new stepper motor range which not onlyfeature a very high torque, but also have excellentEMC properties. The SC3518 is a 2-phase hybridstepper motor with frame size NEMA 14 (35 mm)and 1.8° step angle, depending on the motor length. The holding torque is between 0.18 N.m and 0.32N.m. With the shielded cable, which is standard equipment, the two outer pins of the connector areattached to the motor housing, creating a shield to housing connection with excellent EMCperformance. Radiated EMC Interference from the motor lines, which can cause problems inexisting systems, is effectively suppressed.New safety interlockrange resists shock andvibrationIndustrial safety specialist SERV TrayvouInterverrouillage has developed a new trapped-keyinterlock, highly resistant to external impacts andvibration. Rated IK08 and IP40, the Hercule range ismainly used in the energy sector for applicationsincluding switchgear, substations and wind turbines. The product range is compact and offers more than1.7m key code combinations. The Hercule’s bolt lock and door lock canwithstand a minimum of 60daN, and the whole rangecomplies with IEC 60068-2-6. The bolt lock is typically used to mechanically lockoff switches and earthing switches. An enclosure canbe added, with the switch’s status being altered bythe bolt when the key is turned. The bolt’s positiondetermines the key status. Bolt locks can be fixedeither from the cylinder side or the opposite side ofthe cylinder.Schneider Electric, Siemens and ABB are amongthe low- and medium- voltage switchgearmanufacturers who rely on the Hercule range.4 Food & Drink Internationalwww.fdiforum.netHygienic decantertechnology for food anddrinkThe new dairydecanter from theGEA ecoforce seriesensures efficientproduction ofprocessed cheesebase, raw goods for curdcheese bars or bakerscheese. As the dessert production process iscompletely manual, Pots & Co wanted anoffline coder – but it also wanted a fast coder.Rotech recommended its RF2, a standalonefriction feed overprinting system that wouldenable Pots & Co to code sleeves offline and bring them to the production line already printed.Engineered specifically for the food industry, the RF2 uses Rotech’s stack-to-stack feedingtechnology to pick sleeves from a stack, accurately print date or batch codes, and place the printedsleeve neatly onto another stack for collection, all at speeds of 400 per minute. In this way, Pots & Co could pre-code the sleeves for an entire day’s production in less than anhour.
