The low velocity ensures aminimal product break down, fat migration and loss of shininess. It can also be used to convey mixes of products with a minimumalteration of mixed homogeneity.Capacity range for dense phase conveying:- Instant throughput up to 20 T/h- Pipe length up to 50m- Elevation up to 18m- Air speed: 1 to 5 m/s at starting point and 5 to 10 m/s at finalpoint- Product concentration: up to 120kg product/kg airCapacity range for semi-dense phase conveying:- Instant throughput up to 20 T/h- Pipe length up to 75m- Elevation up to 25m- Air speed: 5 to 10 m/s at starting point and 10 to 15 m/s atfinal point- Product concentration: up to 60kg product/kg airAdvantages:- Very low speed- High product concentration- Low height requested at product starting point- Explosion proof- High hygienic (no moving part in contact with the product)- High negative pressure (up to -850 mbar)- Dedicated to very fragile products (dense phase) or fragileproducts (semi-dense phase)Working process:A vacuum pump will vacuum the conveying line. When vacuumis reached, inlet powder valve is opened. Powder is conveyed to areceiving hopper at a low and controlled velocity thanks to an airflow controlled valve. The receiving hopper is continually discharging to the next stepof the process through a rotary valve. According to the product, airinjection is installed at the beginning of the pipe to ease theproduct flow.Guerin Systems (Tetra Pak)Tel: +33 241 632 626 www.guerinsystems.comAllergen issues? Neogen has thesolutionsAs the number of people affected by food allergies increase, sohas food manufacturers’ focus on how to detect and preventallergens from making their way into consumer products.According to recent studies, approximately 1–5% of the totalpopulation in Europe has a clinically-proven food allergy. Thereis increasing consumer and regulatory pressure to manageallergens, which include several European Union directives thatrequire food manufacturers to provide comprehensive ingredientinformation to make it easier for allergic individuals to identifyingredients they must avoid. The industry is past the days whenconsumers bore the majority of the responsibility to ensure thesafety of their own food. Now, the pressure to ensure the safetyof food from allergens falls on the manufacturer.Food manufacturers who wish to implement a new testingprogram generally have one of two options: Set up their owntesting facilities or use a contract services testing facility.Neogen Europe Ltd. provides allergy test kits that allow forqualitative and quantitative in-house testing of 15 major allergensthrough easy-to-use lateral flow strip tests or enzyme-linkedimmunosorbent assay, or ELISA, tests. The ELISAs are based onantigen-antibody interactions to allergenic proteins and allow fordetection of the target allergen across various food matrices. For manufacturers who would prefer to use a contractlaboratory testing, Neogen Europe also provides United KingdomAccreditation Service (UKAS) and ISO accredited testingservices. The lab uses the latest immunological and DNAtechniques to detect target allergens. Testing services encompassa wide variety of food matrices, including environmental swabsand clean-in-place rinses. www.neogeneurope.com50:Layout 1 17/9/12 10:13 Page 1Steen FPM InternationalSteen FPMInternational, well knownfor their state of the artfish and poultryprocessing machines, presents their new ST700-range skinning machines. The ST700/T table topskinning machine with aneasy adjustable, dismountable and lockable knife, makes it possible to process a wide variety of whole fish, fillets and can even deepskin salmon with the highest yield possible. For the bigger fish processors, Steen has developed the automatic, high capacity ST700Vskinning machine.
