Theirexperience was tested to the extreme when acontract filling company requested advice on howto improve production. It soon became obvious the palletisation equipment they wereusing was causing a bottleneck. Eight days after a site visit, thecustomer was accompanied on a tour of Italy to see a range ofpalletisers and automatic pallet wrapping. An order was placedfive weeks after that initial visit for two high level palletisers and ahigh speed rotary arm pallet wrapper, with the potential for twomore palletiser orders to follow. This duly happened along withan order for a de-palletiser, all now fully installed.Due the variety of glass, carton and tray variables the customerused, the flexibility of the system together with the ease of addingfurther programmes lead to the redesign of the method ofinputting new pallet patterns. The customer wanted to make theprocess as simple as possible this was achieved by using the autopallet system that had previously only been used on robotic palletprogramming. This system allows the operator to input the cartonor tray size together with the pallet size and the program willautomatically give you the best options on pallet layouts. Youselect the program most suited to your requirements and themachine does the rest.Installation and training was completed just six months fromthat initial visit. Adpak included pallet tracking which allows thepallet wrapper to inform the labelling system where the pallet hasbeen stacked. This makes the labelling system fully automatic andthe complete system can be managed by a single operator. For more information, visit www.adpak.co.ukT FreemantleT Freemantle Ltd showedequipment from theirmarket leadingrange ofSleeving andCartoningmachinery atthe recentPPMA show.Their FullyAutomatic End Load Cartoner with its unique slim line autoloader took frontof stage in order to demonstrate this machine’s advantages of a smallfootprint and easier operation.
