Molson Coors announces leadership changes amid market shift

Molson Coors has reorganised its leadership team following the appointment of Andrew Goyal as Chief Executive Officer on 1 October. The restructure is designed to speed up decision-making and strengthen alignment across the business as the company adapts to changing consumer preferences.

Goyal, formerly the firm’s Chief Strategy Officer, takes over from Gavin Hattersley, who will retire later this year. The leadership changes come as the brewer faces slowing beer sales and a continued decline in alcohol consumption across key markets. Molson Coors is now prioritising brand growth alongside an expansion into non-beer categories to offset weakening demand.

The company’s most recent quarterly report in August showed net sales of $3.7 billion, down 1.6% year on year. In response, the business is aiming to increase efficiency and focus on product diversification to remain competitive.

As part of the reshuffle, Chief Marketing Officer Michelle St. Jacques will depart after five years with the company. Her exit marks a wider transition within the management structure as Molson Coors seeks to accelerate its transformation and position itself more effectively within the evolving global drinks market.
