PepsiCo is expanding its Gatorade range with a lower-sugar sports drink as part of a broader portfolio shift toward health-focused products. The new variant, Gatorade Lower Sugar, contains 75% less sugar than the original Gatorade Thirst Quencher and is due for release across US retailers in spring 2026.
The drink will be available in four flavours—Fruit Punch, Lemonade, Glacier Cherry and Rain Berry—and sold in 12, 20 and 28-fl oz bottles at prices ranging from $1.89 to $3.39. It contains no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners.
The launch aligns with a wider industry movement to reduce artificial ingredients and reformulate existing products in response to growing consumer interest in natural and functional beverages. It also reflects PepsiCo’s 2026 strategy, which places greater emphasis on protein and wellness-driven innovation following its latest financial updates and leadership changes.
With health-conscious consumers reshaping demand across the drinks market, the introduction of Gatorade Lower Sugar signals PepsiCo’s intent to strengthen its position in the performance hydration category while appealing to a broader customer base seeking cleaner formulations.
