Marzetti strengthens digital foundation for enterprise-wide AI rollout

Marzetti, the US-based food manufacturer known for its salad dressings and sauces, has completed a multiyear overhaul of its enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and is now expanding the use of artificial intelligence across its operations.

Following the ERP modernisation, the company has begun deploying AI within internal functions such as finance and human resources, supported by a clean and unified data environment. The groundwork completed during the ERP phase has allowed the firm to integrate automation and AI tools more effectively and develop a pipeline of new projects focused on improving efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

As part of this shift, Marzetti has also launched initiatives to raise AI literacy among staff. The company circulated guidelines for responsible use and introduced internal training exercises designed to familiarise employees with generative AI tools and their applications in business contexts.

To maintain long-term oversight, an AI council and internal champions have been appointed to coordinate future projects and ensure adoption remains aligned with operational priorities. The company’s current focus is on embedding AI into everyday workflows to enhance productivity and strengthen digital capability across the business.
