Swiss dairy products manufacturer, Emmi Group is set to acquire The English Cheesecake Company Ltd., the premium cheesecake brand in the British retail trade.
The English Cheesecake Company was founded as a family business in 2000 and generated sales of around £23 million in the past financial year.
For over 25 years, The English Cheesecake Company has been producing cheesecakes based on traditional British recipes. The portfolio includes classic cheesecakes, vegan and frozen options, together with snack formats.
Didier Boudy, EVP Emmi Desserts, said: “The bolt-on acquisition increases our presence in the fast-growing premium cheesecakes segment and contributes to the global indulgence megatrend. This represents a further step towards advancing our strong market position in the global premium desserts market and creating synergies within our portfolio.”
