Leading the packaging transition: APP Group showcases circular, compostable solutions at FACHPACK 2025

APP Group is set to showcase its latest circular and compostable paperboard packaging at FACHPACK 2025, held from September 23–25 at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, Germany. Designed for the food and beverage industry, these solutions reflect APP Group’s commitment to sustainability and global expansion.

Following its debut at FACHPACK 2024 and participation in last drupa, Foopak will return to Fachpack this year and is already confirmed for interpack 2026. By joining major international exhibitions, APP Group continues to strengthen its presence as a provider of sustainable alternatives to conventional food packaging.

APP Group invites stakeholders to Hall 3A / Booth Number 3A-221

At Hall 3A, Booth 3A-221, APP Group will spotlight Foopak Bio Natura, the flagship food-grade paperboard solution under its Foopak brand. Made from compostable, recyclable, and PFAS-free material, this paperboard is certified for direct food contact and proudly carries both compostability and Flustix certifications. It performs well across hot and cold applications, making it a versatile replacement for plastic-based packaging.

“We believe the future of packaging lies in materials that meet both functional and environmental needs,” said Atul Tyagi, head of sales export for the Industrial White Business Unit at APP Group. “FACHPACK 2025 is an important opportunity to connect with European partners who share this vision and to accelerate the shift toward safer, more circular solutions for food and beverage applications.”

What makes Foopak Bio Natura different

Made from 100% virgin pulp and coated with a water-based barrier, Foopak Bio Natura provides safe protection against liquids without harmful chemicals like PFAS. Unlike plastic-lined packaging, it naturally breaks down, while also being recyclable and compostable. Its single-material design avoids the recycling challenges of mixed-material food packaging and complies with global safety standards.

Sustainability in the European food & beverage market

Europe’s food and beverage industry is under growing pressure from regulations like the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD), which limit the use of plastics and push companies toward circular solutions. This shift is also driven by consumers who want safer, greener packaging.

Paperboard packaging is becoming a preferred choice when it can deliver food safety, recyclability, and compostability. Foopak meets these needs by offering recyclable, PFAS-free paperboard that complies with regulations while still providing the strength food packaging requires. This makes it a practical alternative to conventional plastics and helps businesses meet sustainability goals.

Explore future opportunities with APP Group and be part of the change in sustainable packaging

APP Group partnered with European organizations, including RunCzech, which used Foopak’s sustainable paperboard in event-related food service applications. These collaborations show how sustainable materials can succeed in real-world applications.

By joining FACHPACK 2025, APP Group invites stakeholders across packaging, food service, and consumer goods to explore how its solutions can help achieve sustainability goals. Visitors are encouraged to meet the team to discover future opportunities in responsible packaging.
