The 2024 Sustainable Food Awards are open to entries. The awards celebrate
and recognise excellence in sustainability in the food industry.
Organised by Ecovia Intelligence, the aim of the Sustainable Food Awards is “to inspire
positive change by recognising organisations and innovations that are helping build a
sustainable food industry.” Entries are open to food & beverage brands, retailers &
distributors, ingredient suppliers, packaging firms, NGOs, and related firms.
There are five award categories…
- New Sustainable Product: given to a new food / beverage product with important
sustainability credentials. - Sustainable Ingredient: given to a new ingredient that makes a sustainable difference
in terms of environmental and / or social impact. - Sustainable Packaging: a new packaging format that has lower environmental
impact. - Sustainability Pioneer: given to an operator that is a pioneer in some aspect of
sustainability. - Sustainability Leadership: given to an organisation that leads in various aspects of
sustainability.
The closing date for entries is 31st May. The finalists will be announced on 14th June,
and the winners at a dedicated awards reception in Amsterdam on 4th July. The awards
reception will be co-hosted alongside the European edition of the Sustainable Foods
Summit, 4-5th July.
Award recipients will benefit from media coverage and industry recognition of their
sustainability achievements. Winners and runner-ups of the previous (2023) Sustainable
Food Awards were Albert Heijn (the Netherlands), Altos Planos (USA), Australian
Farming Families, Ecotone (France), Fairtrade Original (the Netherlands), Minerva Foods
(Brazil), Nature Bio Foods (India), ofi (Singapore), Supaso (Austria), The Seaweed
Company (the Netherlands), and Traditional Medicinals (USA).
