Ardent Mills launches cocoa powder substitute for stable supply chains

Ardent Mills has introduced a wheat-based ingredient designed to partially replace cocoa powder in baked goods such as cakes, brownies, cookies, and muffins. Called Cocoa Replace, the product was developed to help manufacturers navigate volatile cocoa prices and supply uncertainty.

The formulation is intended to substitute up to 25% of traditional cocoa powder in relevant applications. It is also a single-ingredient solution, aimed at easing reformulation and labelling challenges, particularly for wheat-based products.

The move aligns with Ardent Mills’ broader strategy to offer more resilient and cost-effective ingredients in response to ongoing supply chain pressures.
