Asahi Group Holdings continues to experience production and distribution delays across Japan following a large-scale cyberattack that paralysed its ordering and delivery systems earlier this week.
The incident forced most of Asahi’s domestic factories to suspend operations, halting shipments of its major beverage products, including beer and bottled tea. Retailers such as 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Lawson, and Life Cooperation have reported limited stock and warned of potential shortages in the coming days.
While the company has begun partially restoring shipments through manual order processing, a full recovery timeline has not been confirmed. Email communication with external partners and automated logistics systems remains disrupted, and customer support lines are expected to reopen next week.
The attack is confined to Asahi’s Japanese operations, which represent roughly half of its global revenue. Overseas divisions, including brands such as Peroni, Pilsner Urquell, Grolsch, and the UK-based Fuller’s, remain unaffected.
Asahi has implemented containment measures and is prioritising product supply restoration. Retailers are sourcing alternative stock to reduce the impact on consumers as the company works to resume normal operations.
