Del Monte Foods is set to shut down its processing plant in Yakima, Washington, along with two nearby warehouses.
The closures will impact 51 full-time employees and 448 seasonal workers. The Yakima facility primarily produced canned pear products.
This latest move follows the company’s earlier shutdown of a nearby plant in Toppenish last year.
Del Monte attributed the decision to evolving consumer preferences and broader operational adjustments.
