Finnebrogue adopts AI-driven supply chain platform to streamline operations

Northern Ireland-based food manufacturer Finnebrogue has partnered with RELEX Solutions to overhaul its supply chain planning across four production facilities. The move marks a strategic shift toward a fully integrated, data-led platform designed to improve production scheduling, inventory control, and responsiveness to fluctuating demand.

RELEX’s machine learning–powered platform will replace manual spreadsheet processes and enable real-time demand sensing, allowing the company to adapt more quickly to shifts in consumer behaviour and reduce product waste. With over 500 SKUs across premium meat and plant-based products, the company aims to enhance efficiency by unifying production and materials planning into a single platform.

Implementation will be supported by consultancy Supply Chain Company, with RELEX’s tool set to optimise master planning and scheduling across Finnebrogue’s sausage, bacon, mushroom, and plant-based sites. The rollout is expected to enhance inventory turnover, reduce the risk of overproduction, and facilitate more informed decision-making, which is crucial for a fresh food producer operating in a fast-paced sector.

This move underscores Finnebrogue’s broader strategy to boost operational agility while strengthening its sustainability credentials in the competitive UK food manufacturing market.
