Kraft Heinz has entered an agreement to sell its Italian infant and specialty food division to NewPrinces Group, one of Italy’s leading food and beverage producers. The transaction, which is slated to complete by the end of 2025, will see NewPrinces acquire several brands, including Plasmon, Nipiol, and Dieterba, along with Kraft Heinz’s Latina production facility, which produces biscuits for the Plasmon brand.
This move aligns with Kraft Heinz’s ongoing strategy to focus on its core brands, including HEINZ and other products within the “Taste Elevation” range. By reducing its portfolio, Kraft Heinz aims to accelerate growth and drive sustainable value through targeted investments in high-priority areas.
NewPrinces Group, which was rebranded after its acquisition of Princes Limited in 2024, will take over operations at the Latina site, where around 300 employees are based. NewPrinces plans to continue expanding its presence in specialised nutrition and the European market.
Kraft Heinz is also in the process of consulting with local unions in Italy as part of the mandatory procedure. The company has worked with financial and legal advisers Houlihan Lokey, Chiomenti, and Gibson Dunn to facilitate the deal.
