Plant-based cheese brand Alfred’s Deli enters commercial market with high-protein launch

Israeli food-tech company Alfred’s Foodtech has officially entered the commercial market under its new brand Alfred’s Deli, debuting a line of plant-based sliced cheeses positioned for the flexitarian segment.

The company’s initial offerings—Gouda and Gouda with Pesto—contain 18% protein, targeting consumers seeking alternatives to traditional dairy products without compromising nutritional content. This move places Alfred’s among the few players in the space offering high-protein, hard-style vegan cheese in ready-sliced format.

The launch marks a milestone following four years of R&D. Alfred’s has previously developed prototypes across multiple plant-based categories, including deli meats, chicken alternatives, and a wider portfolio of cheese substitutes.

Retail distribution has begun across Victory supermarkets in Israel, with broader rollout strategies expected to follow. The company is focused on expanding its presence in the growing plant-based protein market, particularly among flexitarian consumers seeking both taste and health benefits.

The product release forms part of Alfred’s broader strategy to address the increasing demand for protein-rich meat and dairy alternatives with strong functional performance in terms of taste and texture.
