Cultivated food company Gourmey acquires Vital Meat to form leader in next-gen animal production

Gourmey, the French cultivated food company, has acquired Vital Meat to form PARIMA, a next-generation leader in animal production.

PARIMA combines complementary strengths in scalable cell cultivation and validated production economics. The company develops scalable systems to produce animal products directly from cells, with applications spanning food, nutrition, and beyond.

PARIMA’s portfolio of animal species and cultivated food creations is starting with duck and chicken, spanning premium dining and broader markets worldwide.

The acquisition brings together Gourmey’s full-stack industrial platform, which includes premium cultivated duck products, with Vital Meat’s poultry cell-line technology developed from nearly 25 years of avian cell research at Groupe Grimaud.

PARIMA gains additional strength from Vital Meat’s experienced team and Nantes infrastructure, which adds 2,000-liter bioreactor capacity and advanced avian cell lines. This combination establishes a robust foundation to scale across species and markets.

While PARIMA will drive the group’s global scale-up and industrial expansion, Gourmey will continue to operate as its culinary and innovation arm, focused on premium segments, established distribution channels, and collaborations with chefs and fine food distributors.
