Kite Packaging donates £29,000 to UK charities

Employee share-owned packaging company Kite Packaging recently donated over £29,000 to charities across the UK as part of its charitable giving campaign.

Central to Kite’s commitment to social responsibility, the campaign empowers Kite staff to make a difference in causes that are important to them. The selection process is entirely employee-led, with staff putting forward charities and then voting on one or two of these for each division to support.

This year, the charities were: Rotherham Children’s Hospice, Love Football, Royal British Legion, Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter, Coventry Haven, Dementia UK, Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity, Garden House Hospice, Prostate Cancer UK, CALM, Coventry & Warwickshire Children’s Charity, Zoe’s Place, Air Ambulance, Firefly Cancer Awareness & Support, Cardiac Risk in the Young, Prostate Cancer Support Association Kent, Cyclists Fighting Cancer, STEP, Pitt Hopkins UK, Alzheimer’s UK, and Breast Cancer UK.

“We strongly believe in using our success to make a meaningful difference within our communities,” said a Kite spokesperson. “Many of these charities have had a direct impact on our employees’ lives. We’re proud to give back to so many incredible causes making an extraordinary difference across the UK.”

This latest round of donations forms part of Kite Packaging’s broader corporate social responsibility efforts, spanning charitable giving, environmental sustainability, and ethical business practices. As a carbon-neutral company and UK Packaging CSR Initiative of the Year 2024, Kite continues to lead by example in both business innovation and social impact.

“At Kite, every colleague shares our values of responsibility, empathy, and community,” the spokesperson added. “Giving back is a core part of who we are.”

The packaging distributor frequently organises fundraisers, such as bake sales and raffles, to support charities like Comic Relief, Children in Need, and more. They recently hosted their annual Nick Weir Cup, a charity football tournament that took place on 19th July 2025. On the day, eleven teams went head-to-head, raising £1,269.47 for Alzheimer’s Support Wiltshire, a cause important to the team at Kite.
