Post Consumer Brands has outlined the timeline for shutting down its cereal production facility in Sparks, Nevada. The company confirmed that layoffs will begin on 12 December 2025 and continue through to 31 March 2026, affecting 119 employees in total.
The move follows a company-wide plan to reduce capacity within its cereal manufacturing network. Production from the Sparks site, along with operations at a facility in Cobourg, Ontario, will be shifted to other Post Consumer Brands plants.
Post acquired the Sparks site in 2021 through its $85 million purchase of the TreeHouse Foods ready-to-eat cereal business. The company expects to achieve annual cost savings of between $21 million and $23 million once the transition is complete in fiscal 2026.
The closure marks a broader consolidation effort across Post Holdings’ manufacturing footprint as it seeks to streamline operations and improve efficiency within its North American cereal division.
